On February 15th, 2015 Reggae star Omari Banks arrived in London, UK for a whirlwind media week leading to an anticipated performance at the acclaimed “229 The Venue”. What makes this tour even more exciting is the correlation with Omari’s “Move On” Deluxe Edition album slated to be released on February, 17th 2015.
Upon arrival Omari will immerse immediately in his work but will allow himself a pleasurable respite by attending iconic Freddie McGregor show at Hammersmith Apollo. The days will follow by seeing the artist visits such media houses as SKY TV, Vibes FM, Flames FM, Beat FM, Unity FM, BBC, Robbo Ranx, Seani B and the Jamaican high commission among many other stops on this musical journey.
For the reggae star what is perhaps deemed as the highlight of his stay, will be his performance at the historical “229 The Venue” which first opened its doors in 1965. The renowned venue has hosted various stage shows from an array of international artists ranging from the legendary Chrissy Hyndes (The Pretenders) to the legendary Skatelites.
While gearing up for his show, Omari will rehearse at the World Famous “The Joint” studio where the likes of Adele, Kanye West, Boy George and Cat Stevens have honed their craft. “Its a pleasure to come over to the UK. I’m happy for this opportunity to introduce to the UK to my new album and to have a chance to perform for my fans, and hopefully make new ones.” Omari
Fans and critics alike have consistently praised Omari’s soulful stage shows likening him to the best entertainers of the past with his own brand of prolific lyrics and melodious sound. “He sounds like a cross between Bob Marley and Bob Dylan.” NY Times 2/4/15
